2 Reasons To See An Eye Doctor For Eye Fatigue

by Ben Richardson

Eye fatigue can often be one of the most frustrating things to experience, especially if you happen to work in an environment where you are going to be looking at a computer screen for long periods of time, as that situation can make eye fatigue or eye strain much more common. Eye strain or eye fatigue is so frustrating because it can lead to headaches, dry eyes, and a number of other unpleasant side effects. Listed below are two reasons to see an eye doctor for your eye fatigue.

Adjust Your Prescription

One of the biggest reasons to see an eye doctor for eye fatigue is that one of the leading causes of eye fatigue is having an incorrect prescription for your glasses or contact lenses. If you have a prescription that is too strong or too weak for your eyes, then it is not uncommon for your eyes to have to work harder to compensate for those issues and result in headaches and eye strain for you. However, an eye doctor can check your prescription and adjust it as necessary in order to get you the correct prescription, which can often greatly alleviate or eliminate the symptoms related to eye fatigue.

Provide Glasses With Special Coatings

Another reason to see an eye doctor for eye fatigue is that he or she can provide you with glasses that have special coatings on them that can greatly reduce the instances of eye fatigue that you experience. One of these coatings is an anti-glare coating that can minimize the bright glare that you might experience while looking at a computer screen or while you are driving at night.

Another coating that can help with eye fatigue or eye strain is a coating that is designed to filter out much of the blue light that monitors and other digital devices emit. This will make the display of your monitor or digital device much less harsh for your eyes, which is a great thing if you work in front of a computer screen all day and are frequently experiencing eye fatigue or headaches.

Make an appointment with your local optometrist today in order to discuss how he or she may be able to assist you with your eye strain or eye fatigue. An eye doctor may be able to assist you with your eye fatigue by adjusting your prescription or providing you with glasses that have special coatings that can help with eye fatigue.

About Me

Care for Your Eyes Well to Preserve Your Good Vision

I still remember the day my mom took my family for our annual eye exams and I found out that I needed to start wearing eyeglasses. I really enjoyed picking out my first pair, and they were pink with cartoon characters on them! When I entered high school, my parents let me begin wearing contact lenses. I was afraid to put them in my eyes, but I was brave and did it! I recently began having lens discomfort, and I was really worried I would be told by my eye doctor that I wouldn't wear contacts anymore. I was grateful when he told me that I simply had dry eye and needed to use lubricant drops and wear my glasses a bit more often. I have since become dedicated to caring for my eyes well and I decided to start a blog to help others learn how too, too!
